  1. I think, 9 years on, this is still the only Zero Punctuation where the ending credits skit ended with an animation rather than just a still frame for the final punchline. Guess Yahtzee really hated that fucking little lizard.

  2. "if you don't have an iPhone"
we came from a heretic land called "Android"
also, unironically, both of out lands have gone to shites ever since this video's conception. oh wait, there's the fun Jetpack Joyride….no more.
    fkuc!

  3. Reading through all these comments about how bad the mobile market has gotten years later. It got even worse… now we have Raid: Shadow Legends and Arknights…

  4. Oh boy, this video aged badly.
Also phone games where always just newground flash games stolen or ported to phones.

  5. Plenty of comments regarding the downfall of mobile gaming. Yet, not one has yet made reference of the rise of (quality) mobile gacha games such as Fate/Grand Order or Arknights.
Then again, these tend to be made in Japan (or as folks would say "Weeaboo Trash") or China (which I can guess many will take issue with for another reason).

  6. "Methinks the lady doth protest too much…" It's funny, we all think that The Escapist is actually very critical and discerning doesn't like getting assraped by the cheap corporate merry-go-round, but in REALITY………in reality, he has bought at least one Apple product within the last 10 years, and thus is not at all discerning, LIKES being assraped by corporations, and also wants to help ensure you get assraped also. WHO'S UP FOR SOME OVERPRICED HARDWARE THAT'S LITERALLY DESIGNED TO FAIL? ("OOH, OOH, ME, PLEASE, PAPA-SAN!" –The Escapist, circa the time of this video)

  7. And thus now mobile game stores succumb to the same penchant for recycled drivel as the mainstream…

  8. If only mobile games were still pure, now they ask if you can beat level one. You brain dead idiot, now go buy more micro transactions.

  9. Ah, I miss when the App Store was an interesting place, where many devs were trying to push the hardware, attempting to see if you could squeeze every genre under the sun into your device.

  10. Y’all remember when mobile games were actually games and not just gambling for kids

  11. People commenting on the video: "There are NO GOOD MOBILE GAMES!!!!"

Yahtzee literally names off games he enjoyed.

"THEY'RE ALL JUST GENERIC STATEMENT I'M GOING TO REPEAT OVER AND OVER AGAIN AND NOT BOTHER LOOKING AT ANYTHING THAT PROVES ME WRONG"

A simple Google search would show hundreds of articles listing off dozens of games EACH that all prove them wrong. Yes of course there is plenty of dross on the mobile market. There are also high quality titles of all genres, including mobile versions of full on AAA games like the 2012 reboot of XCOM, digital versions of board games like Suburbia, Lords of Waterdeep, Catan, Pandemic, Ticket to Ride and many others, some of which the physical games cost $80 OR MORE – all for less than what you would spend at Burger King, with the added advantages of being able to play them anywhere, anytime and you can play them by yourself if you don't have anybody to play with!

"IS THERE NO HOPE FOR HUMANITY????"

Well if you're any indication, perhaps not, KYLE.

  12. A lot of the more recent comments amount to "Wow, this video hasn't aged well." I'm throwing my hat in that ring. Wow, this video hasn't aged well.

  13. Back in the days when I had an iPod touch and could play all these amazing games. Now mobile gaming just sucks. It's sad.

  14. The Triple-A gaming industry ripped off the mobile market's microtransaction massacre. This video needs to be remade.
